Hawks 2020 Season Update

In an effort to keep everyone abreast of the decisions for the 2020 Philadelphia Hawks Australian Rules Football Club training and season, we will continue to update this post as decisions are made.

As of June 05:

All Practices Through June 30th are cancelled. As we near the Green Phase reopening, we are working with our Parks and Rec contacts to iron out when the spaces will be available. Keep and eye out here and on our social media!

July and August Game Dates: Nashville/DC and New York are tentative. Minnesota is in discussions.

As of May 01:

All Practices Through May 31st are cancelled. First date of training is still TBD – please keep an eye on our Social Media.

ALL USAFL Regional Tournaments are cancelled. The USAFL’s official statement can be found here.

We will continue to provide updates as we receive them. The USAFL’s most recent statement regarding movement forward for the 2020 USAFL season can be found here.

We continue to look forward to resuming practice, and recovering what we can for the 2020 season. We appreciate everyone keeping in touch, and we encourage you to reach out to us in these times if you are in need – we are not just an Australian Rules Football team, we are a community and a family.

As of April 08:

All Practices Through April 30th are cancelled. First date of training is still TBD – please keep an eye on our Social Media.

ALL EAFL round robin tournaments are cancelled as of now. We are hoping to reschedule for later in the year.

Fingers crossed, May 9th Metro will go ahead. Please keep and eye on our Social Media for confirmation.

As Of March 24:

The Australian Rules Football Kids Clinic, scheduled for March 22nd at The Phield House, has been postponed, with a rescheduled date to come. If you are interested in participating or helping to assist in running the clinic when it is rescheduled, please reach out to the Board.

2020 Hawks Season Launch Party, scheduled for March 27th at Bluestone Lane in Rittenhouse square is postponed until further notice. Event will be rescheduled once games have been set. Bluestone Lane is closed for the moment, but keep an eye out for further announcements as to whether they go with contactless pick-up.

ALL PRACTICES PRIOR TO APRIL 21ST are cancelled. We are hoping to start training on April 21st, pending updates.

Metro 1 and 2 are both cancelled, and are unlikely to be rescheduled.

EAFL Round 1 in DC on April 18th is TBD, but doubtful – please keep an eye on our social media feeds and right her eon this post for future updates.

Anzac Day Match, April 25th is currently expected to proceed at Edgely Field, pending any changes.
